Melanie Lindsey
Hair & Makeup Designer
A brief overview...
Melanie has worked in film and TV since 2011 and in a former life, taught hair and makeup within Further Education, in addition to owning two hair salons.
As a highly experienced team leader, Melanie excels at coordinating a smooth running department and working within agreed budgets and time constraints. She has worked on productions ranging from low to big budget, all presenting their unique issues to troubleshoot, which Melanie thrives on. She is composed under pressure, creating a chilled, focused atmosphere within the makeup trailer.
Melanie has a strong skill set that includes working with all skin types and hair textures and an extensive product range and tool kit, that caters for everyone. She understands the importance of working with a diverse team, ensuring all cast members feel confident in her ability to provide a fully inclusive hair and makeup application.
Having worked on many productions, from period dramas with perfectly executed hairstyling to modern day projects with realistic special effects makeup, she is able to turn her hand to any project with a wealth of experience to support her.
Melanie would be delighted to discuss your production with you, so she can detail further how she can meet your requirements.
Rob Evans - Director - Grantchester
"I have known Mel for a number of years and have found her to be a consummate professional in all facets of the production process. Her attention to detail and thorough research during the prep' period is second to none. She leads by example and whilst always committed to achieving exellence this is always done done with a total understanding of the overall process. She can also get you out of trouble! I cannot speak highly enough of Mel and would say with absolute confidence that she is a hugely important part of the creative process and a joy to work with."
Charlotte Webber - Producer - Endeavour
"Melanie joined us on Endeavour at very short notice for a single block and did a really wonderful job. Her work was consistently well considered, clearly well prepared, with beautiful results. Melanie and her team coped really well with the demands of a very fast paced period show and always maintained a collaborative and professional approach. I do hope to work with Melanie again on a full series."
